Indian captain for the last three Tests in Australia, Ajinkya Rahane, gave a pep talk to the team after the famous three-wicket win at the Gabba, which saw India clinch the Test series 2-1. Addressing the team in the dressing room, Rahane described the victory as a major moment for everyone, and put it down to teamwork.

Team India created history on Tuesday when they defeated Australia in Brisbane, chasing down a record 328. Shubman Gill (91), Rishabh Pant (89 not out) and Cheteshwar Pujara (56) were the major contributors as the Aussies were stunned at their fortress, losing their first Test match at the Gabba since 1988. Following the massive triumph, Indian captain Ajinkya Rahane was left almost speechless as India retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy with a 2-1 triumph.

Ajinkya Rahane scored a brilliant hundred, his 12th in Test matches, to help India square the four-match series at Melbourne 1-1. Rahane’s coach and former India cricketer Pravin Amre has now revealed that Rahane worked very hard in the nets in India before heading to Australia.

Indian debutant Shubman Gill said that watching Ajinkya Rahane compile his brilliant hundred from the sidelines at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) was a massive learning experience for him

Team India will miss the services of regular skipper Virat Kohli for three of the four Tests in Australia. Kohli will take part in the opening Test in Adelaide, India’s first Day/Night encounter Down Under. After the conclusion of the match, Kohli will head back to India to be with wife Anushka Sharma for the birth of their first child.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli has decided to leave the Australian tour after the first test in Adelaide, in order to be present with his wife, as the pair are expecting their first child. That has created a sense of anxiety in the Indian camp, as his absence has not only created a huge hole in the side’s batting, but it also means that someone else will be leading the Indian team in whites, something that hasn’t happened in more than three years.

Having captained Rajasthan Royals for a major portion of IPL 2019, Ajinkya Rahane will be seen in a new role this year. He was traded to Delhi Capitals during the trade window. While Rahane remains an integral part of India’s Test team, he hasn’t played an ODI since February 2018, missing out on a World Cup spot last year.

Veteran Indian batsman Ajinkya Rahane has been a crucial part of India’s Test squad ever since making his debut in 2013. In 65 Tests, he has 4203 runs at an average of 42.88 with 11 hundreds. However, despite consistent performances in ODIs, Rahane has found himself out of favour over the last two years.

Team India vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane has stated that he is not bothered either by criticism over his form or his record in England. Rahane scored a fine hundred in the Boxing Day Test against the Aussies last year. However, he hasn’t been as consistent since. Also, Rahane averages under 30 from 10 Tests in England
